A few years back there was a TV series that was partially filmed in the Vancouver area, "The Bates Motel". While driving around the southern rural areas of Vancouver, notably Aldergrove, I came across a derelict building beside a "country" road. Later on I learned that it turned out to be the house that was used in the TV series while location shooting was being done in BC. The windows had been boarded up and someone had put Alfred Hitchcock's silhouette onto a piece of plywood and attached it to the front of the building.
The grounds were surrounded by a barbed wire fence and the motel that was originally down below was no longer there, just the old pavement remained that was the parking lot.
I ended up just using the house, which I modified slightly and added a touch of whimsey to the whole thing combining another Hitchcock Classic into the scene, which if you are a Hitchcock fan will be able to figure out what movie that was without any help from me.
